Time machine was running for the first time and it was NINE hours into the job,when it got stopped ( I inadervently removed the usb connection).
Is there any way to get it to resume?

How to change archive folder in Mail for iOS?
I have several IMAP accounts set up in the iPhone Mail app. These accounts are from various providers, but I'm experiencing the same issue with all of them. I will use Gmail as an example case.
I want to change the default Archive folder from 'All Mail' to 'Archives/2015'.
From Settings > Mail, Contacts & Calendars > 'My Email Account' > Account > Advanced I click on Archive Mailbox, select the 'Archives/2015' folder, then Advanced > Account > Done.
However when I click back through to the advanced account settings page, the Archive Mailbox has reverted to 'All Mail'.

I have removed the "guest user" account by: sys/pref>users/groups>guest>remove
It still remains as an option under users(but states disabled)
it still shows up on login screen and if selected allows guest to logon to computer.
How do i remove guest login completely so that is is not even an option at login?
Yosemite login freeze after sleep
I've seen several threads to this effect, but none that have resolved my issues with logging in successfully after sleep for a relatively long time, or after working with an external monitor, then sleeping and waking/logging in...in these cases I'm frozen and have to force shutdown, then reboot.
I'm on Yosemite 10.10.2 (was same with 10.10.1) on a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013; 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 processor; 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory) with last Console log entry below (quite a few minutes prior to attempted wake).
I don't see errors at time of freeze; next thing is my reboot.

Quick Time screencast slows down my gameplay also size too big
I recorded few of the videos in past with quicktime. Size of those videos is too big (~5GB). I have a macbook pro 15-inch retina version. For cutting down the size I am using HandBrake. With that a 2 GB video would come up to 45MB but then video resolution goes really down. Is there any other recording software that can record videos at relatively smaller size.
I have another issue, when I record a gaming video with quicktime the game gets really laggy and impossible to play fluently. I want a screen recorder which doesn't take much resources and my laptops gaming performance doesn't decrease.

Son is bypassing parental controls
I have set weekday time limits & bedtime under parental controls, but my son and his friends have figured out how to bypass them. When he gets a notification that he has x time remaining, I have seen him switch rapidly to mission control and then the notification goes away and never logs him off. I am running Mavericks. Does anyone know if they fixed this bug in Yosemite? I logged an issue with Apple and they never responded.

Will I be able to access my Time Machine backups after changing Hard Drive
I have a 2010 MacBook Pro - I am planning on swapping out the Optical Drive for an SSD in the near future, and then re-installing OS X across the Hard Drive and SSD (in a Fusion Drive format). I have about 2-3 years worth of backups on my Time Capsule - my question is, will I still be able to access them once I've reinstalled OS X? I don't want to restore from Time Capsule (I want a clean install) but I need to be able to access my backups so I can get some data back (by this, I mean go into Time Machine, go back in time to a backup and select a folder to restore). If I can't, and I have to start my backups from scratch and stuff, I will just move some stuff over to a Hard Drive and then re-import it once OS X is reinstalled.

Photobooth camera not detected on video effects with USB Camera
I have a logitech c170 USB webcam plugged into my 2012 Mac Mini. The camera works fine on Skype, Facetime, and Photobooth for taking pictures and videos.
However if I try to apply and video effects such as the rollercoaster, I get into the following loop.

I step out of the frame and it says Background Detected, immediately followed by this.
Camera kicks back in with the
As long as I am out of the shot I could leave this repeating indefinitely. I left it for 20 minutes and it continued repeating.
I have reset the Mac numerous times, killed the VDCAssistant in the terminal, problem still remains. It doesn't make sense that the camera works fine with all other applications.
Has anyone got any suggestions for a potential fix?
Macbook Pro 13'' 8gb
So, my computer has been restarting frequently and today I finally caught it before restarting and got the panic report. I'm not really sure what it means, so any help would be appreciated. Also, it seems to shut off mostly when I move it, so I'm thinking it would be some hardware issue. Before it restarts staticky colored bars appear on the screen, and the computer freezes. I have already tried cleaning out the fan and removing and reinserting the RAM. I have a crack on my screen and the screen is a little loose on the right side.

Can I get a table-only view in iBooks like on iOS in OS X?
Oftentimes, tables are cropped in iBooks so that information is missing because the table doesn't fit on a page. On iOS, I can tap the table and get a table-only view just like I can with pictures. This allows just the table to take up the entire screen without regard to fitting on a page.
Is there a way to do this in iBooks for OS X? When I try clicking on a table, it selects text, but I want it to zoom in. I want the table to fill the entire window temporarily so that I can view it without resizing my pages.
calendar event 3 hour difference on different devices
I own a few apple products as iPhone, iPad and a macbook. And I use preinstalled calendar a lot. However , for some reason all events are displayed on iPad In the setting for all of them 3 hours before they supposed to with a note GMT+3. I am in the moscow timezone so it is GMT+3. I cannot figure out what makes the events shift for 3 hours on my iPad. Has anyone faced this problem before?

I updated all gems or something that like. How can I revert to the original ruby installation? I guess I have a timemachine backup, but maybe a clean reinstall is better.

Does the Mail app store the email on the storage drive?
I bought a new Macbook pro the other day and I set up my mail account on it. It started syncing mail from about two years ago. I was worried that it might be storing mails on the storage disk and since I have the 256gb SSD, I didn't want the space to be taken up by emails from ages ago. I just wanted to know whether it does store a copy of the emails on the storage drive and if so, is there any way to just let it sync emails from only the last two months or so.

Mouse and Keyboard on MacBook Air mid 2009 don't work partially
My MacBook Air mid 2009 worked for 3 months without any problems on Yosemite.
Two days ago the built in mouse stopped working along with the built-in keyboard. Right after it woke up from sleep mode but the light is still on. After pressing the Power button, it asks me to shut it down, so the system did not crash.
At boot I'm able to clear the SMC and VFR (?) RAM. Both did not work. After I reboot, the machine won't respond to mouse or keyboard input. Also a USB mouse and keyboard won't work.
I always had to hard reboot the MacBook (holding power) After some time, it wouldn't boot (black screen). After leaving it off for ~5 mins, it would boot again, but I was faced with the same error. After some research, and the problems at startup, I think it might be an EFI specified problem. Reinstalling has only worked for half an day, then after wake up it wasn't responding.
The problem might be caused after the OS X 10.10.2 update. In the update log I couldn't find any EFI-specified updates (EFI and SMC is also up-to-date).
Anyone able to reproduce this error? I can't get it to work again (without reinstalling it).

And I had no idea that I was not supposed to open a dmg file. Anyway, done is done. I opened it, and there was an install file, I double clicked on it. Then I was not asked to do anything, it just directed me to a website.
How do I make sure I do not have a virus or spyware? Running AIR'13 Yosemite. The file name was macfest. The content looks like this: 
I also used Sophos Anti-virus and it detected OSX/FkCodec-A in the dmg file that I trashed.
Family sharing, some clarifications needed
Recently we've set up family sharing. Now my SO has done an in-app purchase. So far no issue. But when I told her she was a little upset that there was no way to make the payment herself. Because obviously I got to see the purchase.
So, how can she pay for her own purchases, whenever she desires?

And will the receipts for purchases based on her iTunes store credit or vouchers also end up in my mailbox?

Someone else registered my e-mail as their Apple ID
Someone has opened an account with an Apple ID in a domain that I own. I did not open it. I am absolutely sure I did not. It is {my name}@{my surname}.com. So needless to say, I want the Apple ID myself. So I keep resetting the password, only to be locked out of the account again. When I try to get into the account after a day or so of having resetting the password and security questions, I get a msg saying that the email address belongs to another Apple ID? How is this person doing it? I have also had a lot of spyware problems on both my PC's for a long time now, but that is another issue. Surely the person owning the email address automatically owns the Apple ID by the same name? How else can verification e-mails be sent to this person.

How to install java.pkg (not unarchiver)
when i try to launch MC it says i have to have the latest java (osx yosemite) this is the day after i updated. so i download it open the dmg and then to find out that it is not a jar launcher file (btw i know where it is located and how to use jar launcher) it is a .pkg that opens with the unarchiver. i have read a previous post where it says that you need to launch it with jar launcer... i tried that but it was a fail it said it cant be opened with jar launcher and then i get a console error message. so if anyone has a solution any help would be nice.

Parental Controls process/daemon
The patental controls time limits for OS X are a bit flakey.
They worked fine for a while, but recently my son's time limits aren't being applied anymore. This seems a common enough issue.
It started working for a couple of days after the 10.10.2 update, but I think this may have been more to do with the reboot than apple fixing a bug.
I'm running Yosemite, but had the same issue in Mavericks.
Does anyone know which process handles this task? I can then delve into the logs to see if I can find any errors, or maybe write something to restart a service.
Scheduled reboots have been said to fix this, but that is so unelegant. There has to be a smarter way.
Shortcut to switch to the full screen app
There is a shortcut to switch to desktop 1...N in OS X. But usually I have only one desktop and other apps (Chrome, iTerm, etc) in full screen mode.
Is there a way to make shortcuts to switch to these apps?
For example, I would like this configuration:
F1 - switch to desktop, it holds Skype, Finder, etc (already done)
F2 - switch to Chrome (full screen)
F3 - switch to iTerm (full screen)

Size for Kids Educational App
I have a problem to discuss with you guys, please do the needful if anyone know the solution.
I am making a kids interactive app. Basically there are 52 screens full of interaction. In 1 screen there are 6-7 small piece of animations. For all the animation i use 3d softwares. we have 3d render frames of png for animation.
In each screen there are around 450 frames of animation. And my png size for each frame is 150 kb( Compressed size ) So for 52 screens there are around 23,400 frames of animations Size of png for all 23,400 frames is 3.5 GB. Now i want to know what should i do , how can i make this app with 3.5 gb file size.
Can i play videos in place of png frames, because mpeg4, h.264 compressor is making 450 frames of animation videos in 5MB. If this way works than my files size around 270 MB for all the frames.
Please give some solution for this.
