I cracked my iPhone 5S screen on pavement. It's currently not covered under AppleCare. I'm wondering, though, if it's worth it to take this to one of those companies that replace broken screens. From what I know, they just replace the glass -- am I wrong in thinking that it's not just the glass that's broken here?
While on a flight in June 2014, the guy next to me put his drink in the gap between the tray and his cup spilled liquid below including on my macbook air which was in the pouch. Unsure of whether there was liquid damage because it was in a protective laptop sleeve, I turned it on and it would work for a minute or two and then turn off.
The next day I took it to the Apple store and the Genius Bar guy could not determine if there were problems. However when I went to use it over the next week or so, it exhibited an unresponsive/slow trackpad which I assumed with an expanded battery due to liquid damage.
After that resolved itself, the only issue I could point to is that the battery loses its charge at an exponential rate (will go from 100%-20% in an hour or two) and it takes substantially longer to charge to full than before this incident.
Went to another Apple Store a few weeks later and upon opening the Air Genius Bar said
Issue: Customer states device had liquid spilled on it. Afterwards, machine is showing multiple charging and battery issues. Steps to Reproduce: Verified battery failed and has liquid damage to battery. Corrosion appears to be present under logic board. Proposed Resolution: Send to depot for Tier 4 liquid damage repair. Replace all damaged parts.
And gave me a $755 quote to have it repaired. I said I would take my chances because for that amount, I'd rather buy a new macbook air entirely. He said it would be a matter of time before the computer would stop working all together.
With that being said, its now 8 months later and the Air is still working, however, I basically always have to have it attached to the charger.
I'm wondering what potential issues I may run into order a new battery via eBay/Singapore and swapping it out via iFix tutorials and the such. Is it possible that electricity is currently running through some of the corrosion on the current battery and if I swap it out, it could brick the entire laptop? What other scenarios could exist where I may better leave everything alone.

I download pdf files on my Mac, and often transfer them to iPad to read.
This used to be straightforward, but the process seems to be much more complex.
I need to select the pdf, select "Open in iBooks" (which actually displays in Preview) then go through the process on iTunes to transfer it to iPad.
Is there a simpler way. I don't actually want to read in iBooks on the Mac (which doesn't happen anyway)?
All I really want to do is transfer selected pdf to iPad.
I regularly listen to Podcasts from a radio station. These normally consist of a number of segments, which I download as individuals.
On my old iPod (iOS6) these played in Music in order. On my iPhone5S (iOS8) they play in Podcasts in reverse order (last played first), regardless of the order I download them. If I select the 1st (usually the last unplayed in the list), it does not automatically continue with the list, although if I play the last it does, but the segments are in reverse order.
Is there any way of making iPhone5S (iOS8) behave like iPod (iOS6)? (There is a similar 3 year old question - I hoped Apple would have fixed this bug by now.)
I'm having trouble running OSX Server on my 2014 Mac Mini it has been periodically crashing and producing this Crash report. Can anyone help decipher what the issue is? Or help with trying to figure out next steps?

I am trying to set up a password requirement for the accounts on OS X 10.9 I am editing it by using the following command:
sudo pwpolicy -setglobalpolicy "maxFailedLoginAttempts=5 minChars=10 requiresNumeric=1 requiresSymbol=1 requiresAlpha=1"
however if a new account is made it allows them to type in whatever password they want and does not enforce the policy. However, if I then "reset" the account password, the password policy seems to come into effect and prevent the password change if it is not compliant. My question is, is there a way to enforce the password policy for all new accounts created so it requires you to initially abide by the password policy? If not is there a way to have the computer check accounts for compliancy and if not compliant have a password reset during next login?
I added all up all of the usage data on my iphone 5s(16gb) and it came up to a little over 1gb, while it says 11 gb is used, with only 1.7 gb is free.
