Download App Store apps from terminal

Sorry if this belongs in SO. I have posted it here since it is more to do with Apple then programming.

I am looking to get the new MacBook soon and I want to make a script in terminal (C++ or Bash) that allows me to download apps from the App Store. Is there a way how to do this?

The reason why I want to do this is because I am planing to get the new 12" MacBook and would like to automate the install processes. I know I could click and drag the applications but some (like Xcode) cannot be copied that way.

I have also made small scripts in the past and understand programming so it does not matter if it is advanced to make.
