iPhoto 9.6 -- Projects not working after upgrade

After upgrade to iPhoto 9.6 / Yosemite, none of the books are working in any way.

I click on them, and they highlight, but nothing happens (no freeze -- just no response).

I have tried all appropriate library reindex/rebuilds with no success.
