Organizing Books for iPad

So I have a lot of book I wish to organize on my iPad, and the new iBooks won't let me do it. I want to either

• a. Sort by author last name


• b. Use the Collections option. However, I can't add the same book to multiple collections making this far less than ideal.

So the question is, can I do either of these things? If I can't, what functionality is offered to organize my books?
