Since Upgrading to 10.10.2 DNS is unable to resolve

Since upgrading to 10.10.2 I am unable to access the internet at work, where they have their own DNS. I believe this has something to do with the update to discoveryd from mDNSResponder.

Im getting the following error repeatedly:

Feb  9 11:35:52 MacBook-Pro.local discoveryd[54]: Basic DNSResolver UDNS Send(): UDP Sendto() failed to DNSNameServer 172.16.120.45 Port 53 errno 64, fd 31, ErrLogCount 25 ResolverIntf:4

Is there a way to fix this without manual changing back to mDNSResponder as suggested in the following article:
