My iPad won't turn back on

I was scrolling through an app then it went to the home screen without me doing anything, then when I tried clicking on the app again my iPad froze while the app looked clicked, so I clicked the home button and waited a few minutes but nothing happened so I clicked the lock button. A few minutes of waiting later it turned off, but I thought it had just locked so I clicked the lock button again and the apple logo showed up. No matter how many tips I've tried or how many times I've clicked the lock button again it has remained off. (Also it isn't a battery problem, it was fully charged)
