Logging location of a MacBook running OS X Yosemite

Is it possible to log the time and location of a MacBook using Location Services in OS X?

For example, every 15 mins a location lookup is triggered. If the most recently logged location is different from the lookup (to a certain level of accuracy to reduce slight changes in location detected) then log the time and location.

It would be nice if you could label certain locations as, for example, "Home" and "Work", etc.
