iOS delete application data with new version

I want to release a new version of an iOS application on the App Store. The problem is that I made a lot of changes in the data model of this version and if the user install it without deleting the app data before, the app will crash. Can I force the data to be deleted with the application update on the store? How do you handle this can of problem?
