How to determine the location of the saveSearch file associated with a smart folder window using applescript

After opening a .saveSearch file in the finder, I get a smart folder. I would like to use applescript to determine the location of the .saveSearch file. There is a "displayed name of target" property for the Finder window which matches the file name, but target property only returns alias file "" of application "Finder". The "container of target" property causes an error and the "original item of target" property return alias file "" of application "Finder".
