Can OSX Open Directory filter imported groups from AD domain?

At the school I work at we have an Active Directory based network and I am trying to setup Profile Manager to control our iPads. Open Directory has imported/synced every single group in the AD tree and it really clutters up the Profile Manager group listing.

Is there a way to only sync selected groups into Open Directory?
